Who we are
MenuBangla (menubangla.com) provides digital menus, ordering and bookings for restaurants in Bangladesh. You can contact us about privacy at menubanglabd@gmail.com.
Information we collect
Restaurant owners
Your email address, a securely hashed password, and the restaurant details you add, such as name, address, phone number, opening hours, wallet numbers for payments, menu items and photos.
Customer accounts (optional)
If you create a customer account: your name, email address, phone number, a securely hashed password, your points balance and your invite code.
Guests ordering or booking
The details you enter for an order or booking, such as your name, phone number, the dishes ordered, notes, the payment method and a transaction ID if you pay by mobile wallet.
Community posts
Anything you choose to post on the community feed, including photos and the restaurant you tag.
Technical information
Basic logs of requests to our servers, used to keep the service secure and fix errors, and anonymous page view and speed statistics from Vercel Analytics, which does not use cookies.
How we use it
- To run the service: show menus, send orders and bookings to the right restaurant, and let guests follow their order.
- To send account emails such as sign in codes, password resets and, for owners, a daily order summary.
- To keep the service safe, for example to block abuse and fake orders.
- To understand which pages are used, so we can improve them.
We do not sell personal information and we do not show third party advertising.
Who can see your information
When you order from or book with a restaurant, that restaurant sees the details you entered so it can serve you. Posts on the community feed are public. Otherwise, your information is only processed by the services we use to run MenuBangla: Vercel for hosting, MongoDB Atlas for our database and an email provider for account emails.
Storage on your device
We store your sign in token in your browser local storage so you stay signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Account information is kept while your account is active. Orders and bookings are kept so restaurants can keep their records. Server activity logs are kept for about 30 days. You can ask us to delete your account and personal information at any time.
Your choices
You can see and edit your details from your account. To ask for a copy of your information or to delete it, email menubanglabd@gmail.com from the address on your account.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date below. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
